Thank you to all that helped make the CCI Summit in Salida a success!
I would like to thank all who participated in the 3rd Annual Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) Summit that was held last week, May 1-2 in Salida.
It was a great accomplishment and I truly appreciate everyone who made it such a successful event. I would especially like to thank the entire staff at the SteamPlant Event Center (special mention to lead Event Coordinator for the Summit, Beatrice Price) without whom the Summit would not have been possible.
To all of the people and businesses who donated their time, energy, ideas, funds and products to the 2014 Colorado Creative Industries Summit including Jane Pinto of Pinto Barn, Allison Brown of Navsys Corp. and Salida Business Incubator, Ken Brandon, Jan Carey, Lisa Marvel, PJ and Merrell Bergin, Cross A Ranch Skincare, Beeyond the Hive, Epic Valley Salsa, The Maverick Potter, Small Business Alliance members as well as members from the Salida Council for the Arts, Jimmy Descant, Shark, Shelby Cox, Linda Frances, Brooks Gallery, Tina Grannam, Lisa DeYoung, Central Colorado Magazine, Amicas, Boathouse Distillery, Wood’s Distillery, Moonlight Pizza, Elevation Brewery, Vino Salida, Mountain Spirit Winery, Chaffee County Fairgrounds and Jim Mick, Chaffee Shuttle, Public Works, Bea Strawn, Ben Strawn, Clark Roberts, Rob White with AHRA, Jane Templeton, Janet Varnum, Salida High School Drama Club, The Book Haven, Chaffee County Visitor’s Bureau, Brady’s West, Kathleen Nelson with Keller Williams, and other volunteers who helped with the Summit including Susan Bavaria, Louise Fish, Rebecca Coon, Susan Fries, Rebecca Moore, Courtney Potts, Helen Rodriguez, Laurie James, Suzy Patterson and Brad Price. If we have inadvertently missed anyone who also contributed, please know that we very thankful.
A special mention is due to Jan Carey, who hand sewed each of the 300 beautiful, unique and individual welcome bags that were given to all Summit attendees, and Ken Brandon, who designed and hand screen printed each of the 300 bags. I am very grateful for their contribution and value them as tremendous assets to our Creative District community.
The City of Salida and I also want to thank all of the downtown businesses that remained open later than normal business hours on Thursday evening. The City of Salida and I hope everyone noticed an increase in overall sales for the first few days in May.
Salida has proven to be a great host and site for conferences and events of this size. I am optimistic to see more of these types of events here in Salida in the future.
