Creative Monday: “The Visual Advantage: Pinterest and Instagram Basics” November 10, 6:00-7:30 p.m.

The Salida Creative District will host the next Creative Monday “The Visual Advantage: Pinterest & Instagram Basics,” November 10, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the SteamPlant Event Center, 220 W. Sackett.

The class will be taught by Lauren Swanson and will cover the visually based social media platforms, Pinterest and Instagram. These two platforms offer a wonderful way to share products and information using images and can be easily integrated into Facebook, websites and other media and marketing applications. This class will teach the basics of using the two platforms.

Please come to the class having already created both a Pinterest & Instagram account. Additionally, if you have a smartphone please bring and download the Instagram app for your phone beforehand. Bonus points if you have downloaded the Pinterest app too!

This free class includes a free dinner and is 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave.

Lauren Swanson has lived in Breckenridge for just over two years. She is the social media manager for Colorado Mountain College and works seasonally as the Marketing Manager for KODI Rafting. She graduated from Champlain College in Burlington, VT with a B.S. in Public Relations in 2012 and before leaving Vermont held a position as Social Media Manager for ECHO Lake Aquarium & Science Center as well as a Public Relations internship with Phish Inc. & The Waterwheel Foundation. A self-proclaimed social media geek, Lauren spends her free time skiing, hiking and exploring Colorado with her dog, Dutchie. The Salida Creative District was formed to support the ongoing economic growth in Salida and to create a climate in which artists, creatives and creative enterprises can thrive. Keeping with this mission, the Salida Creative District created the free Creative Mondays business education class series in October 2013. Featured topics have ranged from business plans to marketing and website development; the focus is on teaching business and marketing skills to help businesses thrive and grow. They are held monthly on a Monday evening.
