Creative District Bike Rack Call for Entries due July 28
The City of Salida and Salida Creative District, in association with LiveWell Chaffee County and the USA Pro Challenge Cycling Race local organizing committee, have opened a call for entries for a creative bike rack proposal. The City will install the bike racks at a location near the Fritz restaurant on Sackett.
Key goals for the bike rack are that it be congruent to the use of the site and surrounding area and that it should commemorate the 2014 Queen Stage of the USA Pro Challenge, which is near Salida on Monarch Pass.
The bike rack or racks must accommodate at least 14 bikes. The project is open to Chaffee and Fremont County artists, contractors, architects, or designers. Up to four finalists will be selected. The City of Salida has budgeted $2,000 for each piece selected. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the southwest corner of Riverside Park
