Call for Entries: Creative District Signs/Sculptures
The City of Salida and the Salida Creative District—a Colorado Certified Creative District—is opening a Call for Entries for an artist/artists, contractors, architects, or designers to design and construct a total of three signs (one may be a sculpture) for the Creative District. The City of Salida will install the signs and/or sculpture at three locations within the Creative District. A combination of materials may be used to incorporate the City’s character, such as wood, metal, brick or stone. A key goal of the City of Salida is to have the pieces be congruent to the use of the site and surrounding area. The timeline for project delivery to the City of Salida is April 20, 2014.
The project is open to Chaffee and Fremont County artists, contractors, architects, or designers. Up to three finalists will be selected. The City of Salida has budgeted $3,000 for each piece selected. If no proposal is determined to be appropriate, the City of Salida may decide to reopen the selection process to a wider area.
There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting for all interested parties at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at the SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave, Salida.
The submission deadline is March 24, 2014.
