Bernice Strawn Wins Arts Achievement Award
This year’s Mel Strawn Arts Achievement Award was presented to Bernice Strawn. Bernice’s abstract expressionist sculptural work has been a foundation in Colorado. Her work was featured in Michael Paglia’s book Colorado Abstract, a survey of abstract art in Colorado that was celebrated this year with a 10th anniversary show in Denver at the Arvada Center and the Kirkland Museum. In Salida, she co-founded the Salida Sculpture Garden and spearheaded the mural project on the Salida SteamPlant.
