Spring is knocking at the door, which means the 27thAnnual Salida Art Walk is just around the corner! Sponsorship and Venue Registration is now open for the event. The late June weekend celebration of our city’s art heritage gives a unique opportunity for business owners to participate in an historic event & embrace our local Arts Community by becoming a sponsor or pop-up Art Venue! This year’s Salida Art Walk will take place in the downtown Creative District on June 28th– 30th. And is presented by High Country Bank with assistance from Salida Council for the Arts and Salida Creative District.

A team of volunteers, led by Venue Registration and Sponsorship Chair Mark Rittman, is going door to door to encourage Creative District businesses to participate as an Art Venue.
Online registration takes just minutes; business owners go to  and click on the “Sign Up” button to be taken to the Venue / Sponsorship Form.

Rittmann says, “Becoming an Art Venue will actively connect the business with the public that weekend as well as making them a part of Salida Art Walk’s printed program and strong, online presence through our website, Facebook and Instagram. At $150 per Venue and $250 for Dining Out Venues, it’s gotta be the best advertising deal going.

Art Venues will be featured in both our printed program and on the SAW website, with:

– Location pin in program and online SAW map
– Business description in program and online Art Venue listing
– Cross-reference from their Artist’s page on the SAW website
– Cross-reference on the “Events” section (both printed and online)

Art Venues also get:
– Their own page on our SAW website
– An Art Venue packet
– A 2019 Salida Art Walk banner
– Large cards for your window to help ID you and your artist
and Dining Out venues benefit from additional promotion and posters for the featured Friday event.”

Strong, new teams of community volunteers have been meeting, brainstorming, listening to a lot of input and working night and day to help create a fun, festive vibe for this year’s Salida Art Walk. Event chair Sue Ann Hum told us, “We were happily overwhelmed with the outpouring of volunteer support when we began reorganizing the Art Walk committee two months ago. About 50 people attended our Call for Volunteers meeting in late January – and at least 30 others emailed us to offer their help. We’ve been working diligently to match volunteers with a line of service that interests them and currently have about 60 people actively assigned to committees.During Salida Art Walk, the creative vibe of our mountain town explodes with art, as 30+ businesses join our year-round galleries in becoming Pop-Up Art Venues. In these spaces, numerous other artists exhibit work, host demonstrations and interact with the art-loving public. Offering a rain or shine experience, much of the Salida Art Walk event is indoors and beckons visitors ‘come on in!’ and experience the heARTof Salida. The sidewalks will be filled with guests taking in entertainment that is uniquely Salida as local musicians, dancers, and street performers interact with the public, proudly celebrating the diverse arts of the community.”
