Kathy Beekman, a CREATE Client Advisor with CREATE Metro State University’s Center for Innovation will be teaching the April 7 Creative Monday class on retail and merchandising. The class will be 6-7:30pm at the SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave., Salida.

More on Kathy:
Kathy Beekman has been a successful professional artist for 13 years and is the owner of Beekman Fine Art & Design, a business specializing in fine art, teaching, career coaching for artists, and custom picture framing. Kathy has been featured in the nationally acclaimed Southwest Art Magazine multiple times. Her current artwork can be found in galleries throughout Colorado, Arizona, and in Santa Fe, New Mexico and has been collected internationally.
Her passion for helping others achieve their own artistic goals led Kathy to become a Career Coach for artists in 2009. She uses an action-oriented approach, helping artists rise above the rest while they learn to take sensible risks that continue to move them toward their goals. Kathy has been a key component in the success stories of many artists, as many have increased their sales and are now visible within their communities and beyond. These efforts have recently culminated in her book Prosper, a Success Book for Artists.
As President of the Center for the Arts Evergreen Board of Directors, Kathy proudly works with a board of 18 members helping the mountain communities promote and cultivate artistic excellence and to enrich their art experiences. An active member of the Center for the Arts Evergreen since 2006, Kathy actively supports the visual and performing arts organizations in the mountain communities, including school programs.
